I’m absolutely delighted to confirm that our club captain, Rob Strachan, will be staying with the Dere’s for what will be his fourth season at the club. Rob and I have built a fantastic working relationship over the years, and it’s a genuine pleasure to have someone of his calibre and character leading this team.

We sat down and had lunch together on Monday to discuss the season ahead, we spoke about what we expect from each other and the goals we’re aiming to achieve. It was a really positive conversation, and we both came away excited and focused. We can’t wait to get started.

Every year, we fend off strong interest from other clubs keen to secure Rob’s signature, a real testament to the player and the man he is. His loyalty and trust in both myself and the club speak volumes about his commitment and integrity.

In my opinion, Rob is one of the best, if not the best player in this division. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know his family as well, and it’s clear to see that the person he is, and continues to become, is a direct reflection of the strong values instilled in him from a young age.

We’re absolutely thrilled he’ll be leading us into the 2025/26 season as captain. With Rob at the helm, we’re confident in our direction and determined to push forward to achieve our aims and goals.
