Chairman's Statement

Deres Chairman Paul Springett discusses the run in and the future of the club.

Fans, Sponsors, Management, Players, and Community

As we approach the final stretch of what has been a fantastic season, with just seven league games remaining and only three more home fixtures, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your unwavering passion and commitment mean the world to us, and as we look to finish the season strong, your continued backing will be more important than ever.

A huge thank you to our managers, coaching staff, and players, whose consistent hard work and honest performances every week have made this season one to be proud of. Their dedication both on and off the pitch has been second to none, and their efforts truly embody the spirit of this club.

The biggest thanks, however, must go to our loyal sponsors, whose support remains steadfast even in the most challenging economic times. Their belief in our vision and commitment to the club is something we never take for granted, and we are incredibly grateful.

There is so much to be excited about in the club’s future, especially within our growing youth section. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams are thriving, and we are thrilled to be planning the introduction of a senior ladies team for the 2025/26 season a hugely exciting step forward.

Player development continues to be outstanding, with many of our young talents being invited for extended trials at professional clubs. The clear pathway to first-team football, combined with the excellent coaching setup across the club, is truly making a difference.

Away from the pitch, we have faced one of the toughest financial seasons to date.

Despite the economic challenges, we remain one of the most affordable teams to watch in the local area, and I am proud to confirm that admission prices will be frozen for the 2025/26 season. Football should be accessible to all, and I firmly believe our community deserves the chance to enjoy the game without financial barriers.

Our commitment to the community continues to be at the heart of everything we do. Next season, we will again roll out free season tickets for all local schoolchildren, ensuring the next generation has access to live football. Our weekly Age UK coffee mornings have been a huge success, even attracting local college volunteers to assist on these mornings. We’ve led home education mornings, and we’re set to launch a Mental Health Workshop alongside our ongoing support for local charities. These initiatives make me incredibly proud because, for me, football is more than just a game it’s about building a thriving, close-knit community. Personally growing up in tough circumstances in a deprived area, I learned the value of people coming together to support one another, and that remains a core value of myself and this club.

Our relationship with Welling United, with whom we ground share, has evolved into a genuine friendship. What once felt like two separate clubs now feels like one united community. Working closely with the chairman Howard, we share both the challenges and ambitions of improving the ground and infrastructure for the benefit of everyone involved and we both believe in the wider community and what we can bring to the local area. The bond between our clubs will only grow stronger as we move forward together.

Once again, thank you to every single one of you, our fans, sponsors, volunteers, players, and staff. Your dedication is what makes this club special, and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure its success.

I am so proud of everything we have built together.

Thank You,
Geordie
